    This just isn't true. I 've got a felony record as tall as me. Its never stopped me from getting decent/good jobs.
    Not even when they were fresh 30yrs ago.

    As @Hurst posted appearance key especially for you.
    As well as not sounding like a street thug when you interview.
    In addition to that just be honest about your back ground. Follow these 3 simple things and your past won't keep you from getting a good job.

    Well it really depends on the charges and the companies you are trying to get hired by. Some companies don’t want any felonies, because of its limitations on Canada, others have ridiculous standards that few can meet. Heck, I’ve gotten jobs driving and started working before I did the application. It really depends on what the OP is trying to find.

    One company I worked for did that. Some guy called from across the country looking for a job. The HR guy said "We have an abandoned truck near you, go get it and bring it to Tennessee and we'll fill out the job application when you get here; you're hired anyway, so don't worry about that."
