After you have run the 70 hr clock out and have completed a 34 hr reset, when you start a new week and at the end of your fist day do you only enter the hours you worked on that day in box A even though it ask "Total hours on duty last 7 days including today"?

I'm assuming a reset means just that and everything starts at zero even though technically you'd be entering an incorrect answer into box A.

You are correct. Once you reset you enter 0 in prior 7 days even though that is technically incorrect. As far as your hours of service are concerned once you reset it is as if you have never driven before. Best wishes!

    Truckermania is correct.
First question that came to my mind is: why do want to calculate your hours yourself?
The first answer I expected: Elog will tell you.

I think you might be running under an exemption. But knowing the ins and outs from scratch is never a bad thing.

    Good luck

I'm in a hotel room studying and came across something I was unsure of but needed to know before I continued .

No instructors around at 0500 on a Sunday .
    Sheesh!

Some things about this reset rule can be confusing to people that have run a logbook. It's normal. However ask yourself this question. If a 34 reset resets your 60/70 total does it not make sense that your weekly total is now 0? Hand I know your in school. However a small bit of common sense will take you a long way in this industry.

Common sense would also say to verify before entering what is obviously an incorrect answer to the question asked by Box A.
