Very few if any tanker companies allow riders.

I left out 21st feb going thru to 14 March, 4 days off shouldn’t be nothing, I had 3 off lately with not asking at all. I’m sure Mack would say no problem, dispatch probably just pulling hair at the time like u said. Lol.. I know how it can get in there at times. Anyways I. At this CJB place in valdosta GA doin this dedicated run and I been here since 2pm, it’s after 11pm now and I been under rack whole time and not unloaded. I hope I get this detention pay. I’m not rushing them ha

Thanks for the responses. Might have to go with driving vans. Tankers would be perfect b/c I'm retiring close to the Karns City, PA TW. Sounds like Superior would be a great company to work for. I appreciate following ya'll on this thread, very insightful. Stay safe.

Wanna be able to take my kiddos/wife along for a ride when possible. Tankers don't allow passengers, it makes sense because of dangers of hazmat. I don't think the $ will be good with vans though. Still like Superior though. They are close to my home in Western, PA and they have a hub in Benson, AZ. My wife and I want to eventually settle down in Sierra Vista AZ, which is only 25 miles from Benson.

Oh I understand that, you will do good wherever u go, but the closest terminal to house if go tanker is definitely a must, most don’t take truck home, I’m 80 miles away from mine, but is ok since my last job I was 150, so the 80 is like down the street to me

    TBDHUE Thanks this.

So I checked into hotel , best western near markum, they wanted who Authorization or something, couldn’t get ahold of anyone so I wrote down Mack, in PA near karns city it was just auto check in, so I hope I don’t get trouble for doing this. I wasn’t for sure what to do. I will pay for room if need, I was told we could use hotels that were in our driver book. Idk

I always just write my name in for that. Since I'm IC I just get billed back for it anyways. The only place I've been to that you need actual authorization was the Drury Inn Horn Lake, MS (Memphis terminal).

Some terminals are more strict than others I guess because drivers might abuse it a bit too much.

Yea I’m just gonna call my Mack later and let him know. I was told I was able to check into the hotels listed in the book always. No problem. I haven’t stayed in but only 2 so far. I just needed a nite out the truck to relax. Been going 13 days
