What was the fix for the fuel rail decay? Did the relief valve take care of that issue?

Have not installed the relief valve yet, freightliner lost the part and had to reorder. I will do this test and update the thread on results.

Now within the last 3 days its back to regen 2x per day (see attached report). The truck is not making oil on the dipstick like before but is regening too much (no high ideling going on). We have the following codes popping up every 2 days after we clear
    3582 active cel
    3649 inactive
    3597 inactive
    0286 inactive

Side note: The truck sometimes gets a no eng light on the dash and will crank but not start. The driver needs to move some of the fuses around in the fuse box then it will start up right away. Could a bad ground be causing some of these issues? Could a bad nox sensor be causing excessive regens when the truck doesnt need it?

Your differential pressure is still elevated. Should be lower after cleaning and less than 1.0psi IMO. Suggest reman filter for starters. Still need to perform snap throttle in dyno mode to be sure of no black smoke and fix rail decay issue. Your nox faults are not related to frequent regens and need to be troubleshot as a separate issue. What is the current software level and have you checked for revisions for the faults.

I assume this is same as when I tap the throttle when idling?

What does black smoke out the stacks mean? piston rings allowing oil into combustion chamber or unburned fuel?

The software level is found at the top of the page when connected to Insite and revisions are found on QSOL. Should read CA90003.?? is the number we are looking for. Go Cummins reman on the filter. Were the maintenance resets performed after the cleaning?Do we know what cleaning method/machine was used? The other thing that is a possibility is plugged SCR. Inspect the inlet with inspection camera or take off the elbow at the SCR inlet and monitor a regen to see if the pressure drops or remains the same.

Either or ..... an engine issue causing the DPF to plug early with unburned fuel or oil passing. Black is usually excess fuel or lack of air. Either way if smoking your wasting time and money on dpf maintenance as you have an engine issue.
