i was in a mandatory shut down in little rock, ar. at 10:30 am the next day it was lifted and they lit a rocket under my arse to get the load here to ok city, ok. and here i sit, and they can't tell me what # in line i am, or how many trucks are here, but hey, "were working on it!"......yeah....
bad weather coming in...freight is low....the economy smells like a doo-doo diper....
so my best bet is to get to the casino and blow my piddly paycheck..........
they are so poor in preplanning it's not funny....but they have plenty of meetings on how to further "F" their drivers, making us sit in cold spots and barking about idleing................
it's time to leave this mess and turn out the lights..........night ya"ll.
best wishes mcr&deb.

NopE!
Sorry.
NOT happinin' if I were the Big truck truck driver.
I'll agree, it's safer to sit bad weather out,
but to expect a driver to make up for lost time?
How safe and/or wise is THAT?
Covenant tells their drivers to SLOW DOWN,
then tells 'em to hurry up?
Ain't that a mixed (up) message?:smt017
Here's a thought -----
RESCHEDULE the dad-burned load,
Covenant.
Scheese!
So simple, even a caveperson could do it.

But that's the problem. That would make too much sense.

Hey rocks, glad you are ok, i am solo and don't have a tripac and they say that they don't have any...sure
........
they constantly send messages not to idle, i wonder if they go home and sleep in their cars shut off with no heat on 20+- deg nites?
or shut off the heat and a/c at home to "CONNECT " more with their drivers? do you think they say a word for us over their grand dinners at home with their famillies during the holidays? knowing full well that they have us sitting in this tin crapper freezing ouroff? nah..
I love this country, but sometimes i wish that my folks would have stayed put and we could have herded goats for a living w/less stress!!
so here we are out here, are we going to get rewarded for our work? no...now your reward is that you can say you are "employed"...the way things are and may get
soon....i guess we are lucky.
best wishes ya'll

reading this thead and ppl talking about the NO-IDLEING, i work for a
company that also has a no idle policy and if it exceeds a certain percentage they also charge their drivers.
what i do is work within their parameters, my idle is never more than 3% every month. does that i mean i dont idle NO... i just dont get charged for it.... LEARN TO WORK THE SYESTEM THEY CREATED... -
...... any company that enforces rules of this nature are to be considered ***B*****d people***...
i have no respect for them, especially when i am sitting on the street of
philly,pa mt and they are working on a load, they should have worked on this yesterday.....not at the last minute!!......
point is they don't see the drivers as humans...just "tools" to use.:smt012 -

I want to continue letting everyone know what the deal is while i'm out here, but I don't want to have it come out as just "whinning"....
I'm sitting here at a truck stop due to my honesty and Covenants innability to handle
situations that just simply come up out here. I went to p/u a load and the TRL had some leaks....the product could have gotten damaged so i informed them and they refused to allow it to be loaded....i could have had them load it and "wrap" it, but the what ifs are always there, and i don't want to answer up to these "B*****D PEOPLE.... and it's Christmas so here i will sit untill friday.....
The load is going to be put on after the repairs..this puts my hometime in jeopardy
and our plans for the NEW YEAR. Not that this worries them any.....
If all the newbies and experienced drivers out here feel that they are getting what they deserve...then that is good. But, my pay the last few weeks has been pittifull,
we need to change the industry, stand upto these companies...let them know that what they are giving us is below acceptable standards!
On top of all this is their campaign to have us not idle and threaten us with pay deductions if we do.........
Life is very costly out here, and if what you get is spent on necessities and have nothing left afterwards..you are no more than a dog chasing it's tail.....
So i have come to the conclusion that by tax time i will leave this OTR biz and find something else that is less stressfull. When i was otr for 3 years i don't remember it ever being like this and i did work for some rather crappy outfits, one that has come up alot in this section that was once ok to work for..what happened to them? the same that is happening to all of them..scrambling to stay afloat in a very bad economic time in the USA and worldwide.
Therefore they will wage war against the ones that make their money, and we take it and take it and don't blink......
REMEMBER: ALL THAT ARE INDIFFERENT TO THEIR FELLOW MAN SERVE THIS MASTER:
AND COVENANT IS NO DIFFERENT, ONLY THEY HIDE BEHIND THE FALSE FACADE OF ----CHRISTIANITY----
BEST WISHES TO ALL OUT HERE.
