Instead of thinking in extremes both ways, try understanding that most people operate in the middle of the extremes... not all owner ops are outlaws with wanted posters and not all company drivers are window licking Werner drivers.

Because when I hear of company drivers it’s really hard for me not to instantly think, unskilled, spoiled, incompetent, lazy, overweight , stinking, ELD push it to the limit speeding through construction zones, underpaid Swift Werner knight drivers who call road service to come fix their glad hand seals...
BUT; I muster up the might to remind myself I guess not every company driver is like that

You've never been in a truck have you?
    Stuff happens.
You don't get to just leave, because its taking too long to load or unload. You STAY until complete.

That's why you go to off duty, the minute you think its taking too long. And stay in the truck until they come to get you.

Neither. I have been doing this full time for 14 years and enforce my rules on companies, shippers, and receivers. It is simple stand up for yourself. Do not donate time. Get your job done and quit being lazy. There is plenty of time in 14 hours to get your day done. Lack of p manning on your part does not justify extending the work day.

I have never uunderstood you people that want to work more for a measly 50k a year and beg to be allowed more ####off time. Get up, get your work done, take a break. So ####ing simpm e even the some minded could do it......if they were not lazy and want a nap in the day.

Bull haulers are exempt from elogs and I never ever see them moseying down the interstate empty.
They blow the myth that elogs create speeders.
Or the truck that just blew past me, “Hammer Down Trucking” family owned since 2006, I doubt they ever slowed down in construction or small towns,

I have a good friend that hauls livestock, he is having all sort of issues especially when it comes to fuel economy due to the fact he is now playing beat the clock. I should give you his number, maybe you can explain all of this to him?

Oh, that exemption is only out to 150 miles... There are no ELDs set up for that feature that he or I know of. He hauls interstate, that means he goes all over. ;-)

So when you get to Walmart, they put you in dock, then keep you there for 5 hours, you just say "F... It", go back to your trailer, hook it back up and leave?
Then what do you do with the load?

    Trucker61016 and Justrucking2 Thank this.

Jeez you peoeneed an instruction manual on standing up for yourselves? Wow no wonder so many fear an inspection.

What you do is have a time you have to leave by decided before you ever enter. When it gets close to that time you tell them you are leaving. If your trailer is empty take it with you. If it is not come back later and get it.

This is not rocket science folks. All of you can come up with the silly stories you want to excuse your decisions. Trust I get a load of comedic entertainment every time they open up something for public comment. The absolute nonsense in the whini by is funny in a Monty Python elderberry sense.
