It's called multitasking. It takes very little time to disprove these peoples stuff.

 

Big business like P+G, Conagra, DuPont, Mars have paid their political campaigns for this. They want to prove wasting a drivers time does not make the roads unsafe. They (the shippers) are whining about drivers holding their feet to the fire on detention and want to go back to the good old days of "Just shut up and go take a nap driver. We will wake you up whenever we finally get you loaded and you can drive like your ### is on fire and your hair is catching until you get to the next dock where we will tell you the same thing". And because folks incapable of trip planning are whining how tragically unfair life treats the unprepared.


It is presented as a study to placate these people. I doubt the 14 hour is going anywhere. In fact I look for a reduction in a decade. 10 hours 12 on duty.

However ELDs do not judge being rested and no one has ever said they did. Well except for the ELDORME idiots. What they do is record 395 compliance. Nothing more, nothing less.

Some people need kindergarten-type supervision their entire lives, from cradle to grave. They need Big Gov holding their hands and telling them how to behave.
