Anyway .
Clarence grew up in St. Edward Nebraska and quite poor from what I've heard and still has lots of relation there ...according to my father in law who ill just refer to as "Bill" from now on Clarence went to a family reunion there about 20 years ago and was asked for a donation for some improvements on the community center .
Clarence responded by saying just tear this place down and build a new one and send me the bill.

 

It's parked next to a Dick Simon trailer , what year did they go out of business?

 

Don't know the year but its a Columbia which is a step up from the total pos century both of which I've owned .
I think maybe they got they're act together again with the cascadia and am happy with mine but it will never be an fld 120 .

 

Some may not know this but Werner also has they're own junkyard located in the same industrial park as the main terminal in Omaha. .
Totally walled off its where the wrecks go that get picked to the bare bones for parts and open to the public.
Werner also has at least 1 low boy trailer that does nothing but go pick up wrecked trucks and haul em back to Omaha .

 

Not to go completely off topic, but how do you like the cascadia, aside from being happy with it I mean. I’ve always had sort of a soft spot towards them but for the most part people really seem to hate them.

 

Ill sum it up this way ..it does everything great but nothing perfect and can't beat the truck for the price .
Also heads above the build quality of century's and Columbia's .
Qiute comfortable and and looks nice .
..great fuel mileage .
Are there better built trucks ? Absolutely!
Would I buy another ?
Absolutely !

Only issues you won't have with any make have been .
Air bags ...all 4 replaced at 570k .
I'd buy another one .

 

Derek Leathers was the fellow who took over operations just before I was leaving. My understanding is that he continues to run the show. Not sure if CL has any input these days.... you can bet your left-nut that his kids don't. They've probably been removed from his will & disowned, actually.

 

Kind of a weird family ...daughter is a an attorney in Omaha ..adult boys have had issues in the past .
Omaha is Omaha and things get swept under the carpet ....if ya know the right people .
