Do you have the same dispatcher every time? If so, maybe a little one-on-one conversation might help.
If you absolutely know for sure when you'll be unloaded and can accept another dispatch your office people should be ahead of the game enough to have something for you.
Most dispatchers get burnt out on drivers calling in for another load and then finding out there's a delay with the load they haven't unloaded yet. This drives dispatchers right up the wall.

To get loads I follow these procedures:
1)get preplan
2) accept preplan
3)send in arrived at shipper
4)send in loaded call
5)send in ETA to consignee
6)send in arrived at consignee
6)send in empty notice
7) wait for next preplan.
If you call your driver manager she can only tell you you are on the board. Confirm you will get a load sometime. I’m over it. I work for a mega and nothing is personal against me. They are just worker bees and I guess I’m just one too. Next.Last edited: Mar 15, 2018

Thank you. I just cannot take 50% of what I read on here as serious so I end up just entertaining myself here. Carry on.

Aww you guys are so thoughtful.

Why try to rationalize an anal intrusion? It's a simple explanation. Anything else is madness. It's just business. Until you go to a better carrier, and you're still going to get it shoved there occasionally if you are dispatched.
When you get your own truck and pick your own loads, then you can look in the mirror while it's being shoved, and thank only yourself.
Until then, you are a tool in the kit, nothing more, a resource to the company.Toomanybikes, stwik and IluvCATS Thank this. -
Heading Out to the Highway
Judas Priest
Hit 'em boys!
Well I've said it before, and I'll say it again
You get nothing for nothing: expect it when
You're backseat driving, and your hands ain't on the wheel
It's easy to go along with the crowd,
And find later on that your say ain't allowed
Oh that's the way to find what you've been missing
So I'm heading out to the highway
I got nothing to lose at all
I'm gonna do it my way
Take a chance before I fall
A chance before I fall!
You can hang in a left or hang in a right
The choice it is yours to do as you might
The road is open wide to place your bidding
Now, wherever you turn, wherever you go
If you get it wrong, at least you can know
There's miles and miles to put it back together!
And I'm heading out to the highway
I got nothing to lose at all
I'm gonna do it my way
Take a chance before I fall
A chance before I fall!
On the highway!
On the highway!
Making a curve or taking the strain
On the decline, or out on the wain
Oh everybody breaks down sooner or later
We'll put it to rights, we'll square up and mend.
Back on your feet to take the next bend!
You weather every storm that's coming atcha!
And I'm heading out to the highway
I got nothin' to lose at all
I'm gonna do it my way
Take a chance before I fall
Yes, I'm heading out to the highway,
I got nothing to lose at all.I got nothing to lose at all!

They claim I’m getting a new one in April. If it’s single axle drive. I’m turning it down. Had one of those borrowed in North Dakota. Cost 1200 to get it to move on an ice parking lot.IluvCATS Thanks this.
