That address and phone number are for Prime Inc, it's not some debt collection agency. You better believe you signed a contract in orientation, and it will be contained in an employee file.
Man up and pay your debt. You got your cdl.

Aside from that I haven't seen many people complaining that Prime came after them if they left early.
Before I went with them, that's one of the things I searched for to see how they handle people who don't complete a year. I couldn't find any when I searched around.
5 years later seems a bit absurd to me, I could see if they went after him right away or within the 1st year but 5 years later seems a bit much to me..
To the OP.. If for some reason they try to take you to court, the way you can beat almost every debt collector is they are required to sue you in your home district. If they try to sue you from somewhere else you can challenge the court and request it be moved to your district. Almost always debt collectors will drop the case at that point.
Usually most are trying for easy wins by you not answering and them winning a defult judgement so they can garnish your wages.
Edit..
Just wanted to add, make sure to check your state laws. There are a handful of select states where 5 years is the limit for collection.
On the down side, our lovely Congress changed some of the laws a few years ago to favor all those junk debt lawyers and I'm not on the up and up with that.
Only reason I know this stuff is I was sued by a junk debt lawyer some years back and they tried to double the actual debt with ridiculous fees so I fought them and won.Last edited: Mar 18, 2018

You need to find out what the statue of limitations is for debts based on a written contract in your state. Prime didn't train you for a CDL out of the goodness of their hearts. If you're within the statue of limitations you will lose in court.

Debts ALWAYS pop up when time runs out.
It's a trick to extend the 7 years.
Since time is running out. I'd stick with what @Chinatown recommends. And as others say. Look up your state statute of limitations for collections. Some states are 3 years, some are 4. I think most are 5. My state is 6. Some go as long as 10.
Look up the FAIR CREDIT REPORTING ACT. And the FAIR DEBT COLLECTION PRACTICES ACT. One was established in 56 i think. The other around 72.
I think it's high time to re evaluate the acts. I think 7 years is a bit harsh considering all it takes is 2 seconds for boss man to ruin your life for 7 years. YOU'RE FIRED. Or laid off. As the recession did so nicely back in 08. Very hard to get your credit back on track when you're punished for 7 years over.
Sending certified letter might keep the pot stirring for the next 32 months.Last edited: Mar 18, 2018

Make sure to keep eye on credit and they haven't done a hard or soft inquiry.
