First of all those of you that have never been a teacher need to stop posting about what an easy job it is to teach. Most of you have run your mouths without any idea how hard it is to teach.
It would be the same as if I wrote about how easy it is to be a truck driver. All you do is set on your backside and and keep the truck between the lines. Most of you understand all the effort it takes to be a good driver. To sit here and listen to some four wheeler go on about want an easy job you have as a driver would surely grind your gears.
Teaching is one of the most rewarding and the most demanding jobs a person can have. You have a school board and the state telling you what to do as well as a principal demanding that you do additional duties, well beyond what the school board and state require. The physical demands and the mental demands far out weight the demands required as a driver and those requirements to be an owner operator.
Have you been required to take a knife away from a student who wants to stab some one? Have you been told to inspect you room after someone has called in a bomb threat to your school?
After spending 20 minutes of your 30 minute lunch getting your students to the lunch line you have 10 minutes to use the restroom, your only bathroom break of the day, and eat your lunch before you must retrieve the 30 students from the lunchroom so the next group of students can get into the over crowed lunch room.
Comments about the teachers getting to have a day off to go to additional training have no idea what it is like to be REQUIRED to sit and listen to some expert, that never spent a day in a classroom full of students, tell you how to do your job.
Being a teacher is the greatest job you can ever have. Does the money need to be better? Yes!!!! When a student from 20 years ago walks up to you and says, thank you, you know that all that effort was worth it. After 11 years of teaching I had to give it up to make better money for my family and I miss it everyday.ShooterK2, gentleroger and bryan21384 Thank this. -
Luck has nothing to do with success. Not one #### thing.
Hard work, diligence, perseverance, hard work, determination, hard #### work..... that is what has earned me everything I have.
Luck is for idiots and lottery players.AModelCat Thanks this. -
My main point though was just to say there is a lot of money out there and hard working people don't need to be over burdened with more taxes so that teachers can make a decent living while doing their jobs. -
