That's exactly what happens. Your system takes care of everybody. Income tax goes to something useful. You guys get something in return for your hard work. In America, it's all about socioeconomic class. If you can afford to buy your rights or your healthcare, you'll be fine. The majority don't make enough to do such.

 

Because universal healthcare binds me into whatever price the government sets.

That is what has fed up healthcare now. Mdicaide, medicare, government sticking there #### nose into something that is none of their #### business.

Free market principals have driven the costs of elective healthcare down. While government mandated prices, and controls have skyrocketed what most consider mandatory.

Big brother has no business in healthcare except for covering service men and women. NONE!

Good grief you people want them to fund your retirement, pay your medical bills, buy your food, hell we even buy the worthless masses a phone and bus pass now.

 

Universal healthcare is a single payer system with the working class supporting the system and the welfare class draining it dry.

It is morally wrong to expect one group to support another. My idea makes everyone personally and financially responsible for themselves.

As I said, if doctors had to price their services on people being able to pay out of their pockets and no insurance pool to draw from then prices would come down.

But I will just say if you do not stand behind my brothers feel ####ing free to stand in front of them.

 

So how much out of each paycheck do you think the government should take in order to pay for that? Remember, you're not just paying for your own, but for people who don't/won't work, too. 20%? What else do you expect the government to provide? Housing? That would certainly reduce the homeless population! Why not another 25% of your paycheck for that? Everybody's got to eat, too, so why not a universal grocery program? That'll only take another 5 or 10% of your check to cover that program. Before long, you...the person putting in the time and effort being a productive member of society...aren't making any money because your paycheck is eaten up paying for "free" this and "universal" that. So if you can get the exact same benefits sitting on your hands at home as you do busting your rear at work, WHY WORK?

You have the unalienable Right to PURSUE happiness. Nothing guarantees that you'll find it. When the government starts siezing ever larger portions of your earnings in order to pay for social welfare programs, it cuts into your ability to pursue what makes you happy. If having a roof over your head, food on your plate, and good health insurance will make you happy by all means work hard and strive to get all that. If you'd be happier with a horse and 40 acres, have at it. Whatever you think will make you happy, go for it. Can't do that, though, when the fruits of your labor are not yours to enjoy.

 

Unless you live in BC. Then you pay like $1,200/yr for healthcare.

 

Brother, you need to use a little sense here. Think about this. The unemployment rate is at 4 percent. That means just about every able bodied American is working. I think the number is about 150 mil. If each working American only contributed a dollar or two from each paycheck, that's all it takes. You're talking about 20 and 25 percent!!!!! That's crazy! What's a few dollars? You pay taxes at the pump everyday when you get fuel, sales tax, wheel tax, etc. They take out a few measly dollars for ssi. Why not change it to universal? Your already putting money into the society and many ways and you don't even know it

 

Dude, what welfare class? Just about everyone is working. 4 percent unemployment rate suggests that. People can't sit on their ### and collect welfare anymore. They have to show that they're contributing somehow, even of they work part time
