    From yesterday's paper:

Police: No defects in truck, speed a factor in fatal crash

    January 26, 2018

“Weddle is charged with two counts of manslaughter, three counts of aggravated operating under the influence, two counts of driving to endanger and eight counts of various trucking rule violations. Those violations include false record-keeping, driving while fatigued, driving while using alcohol and driving while possessing alcohol.

Manslaughter carries a possible 30-year prison term.”

With a little luck, he'll get the maximum sentence and never drive again.

OMG… from another article about this case:

Weddle has 11 prior convictions for operating under the influence or driving while under the influence, District Attorney Jonathan Liberman said after the verdict.”

Hmmm, did his company know about the "11 prior convictions for operating under the influence or driving while under the influence" and still allow him to drive for them?

Wow.. 6 trucks listed for the company. And if you look at the violations, nearly all of them list the same plate number. Which also appears to be the truck plate number in the crash.

How the hell was he still walking around on the outside after 11 convictions?

You know who needs to be in jail? The judge that kept letting him slide.

He was probably switching the plate between trucks.

Prosecutor prior to the verdict offered him a deal-30 years with all but 20 suspended but Weddle rejected the offer. Now he’s looking at 30 years max.
One thing is for sure, now that he’s been convicted on all counts, they’re gonna make an example out of him.

It seems fair to say that he deserves to be used as an example, because IMO he's a great example of the outlaw drivers who are destroying this industry for the rest of us drivers. I also hope the families of the two people he killed are satisfied with the verdict.
