You do know what INSURANCE is right?

This "small company" you talk of, are you telling me it exists without Liability/General Insurance?

Accidents/Theft/Vandalism/Fire they are all covered with the $1MM/$100K/$1MM policies. If the company is "self-insured" then they understand the risks.

If this company is UNDER-insured then they may not be as good as the OP thinks.

No, you came in and quoted two separate posts by myself that were a part of two different conversations between two other posters. You failed to use the appropriate context from either one then bailed out when you got lost. Try again. Have a nice day :)

Exactly! Furthermore, if the oh so important lord and master company owner cared so much about the precious load maybe he should spend a whopping 20 dollars on a GPS unit for it. Using kingpin locks are a joke. In fact, if I were the customer I'd be very disappointed in the carrier for such lackadaisical "security" for my high dollar load.

I just laugh at the social media/forum tough guys. They are the same ones that play tough on the CB, when confronted they cower like a little female dog.

Shaking my head at some of the responses here.

Why not establish where the driver is and why the trailer is parked before jumping to conclusions? Why the need to ask for advise on a forum? Is this what trucking has come to?

Common sense says the truck is most likely in for some kind of service. If not,.. then do what you think is right.

Me personally,.. glad I dont work for a company with a bunch of snitches for fellow drivers. Back in my day we looked out for each other.

And we wonder why truckers cant come together on anything. You cant trust anyone,.. thats why.

Yeah nax, if there is negligence, guess what?

Insurance companies don't have to pay.

By the way. Selfinsurers are still underwritten by someone and it seems not to apply to cargo insurance.

If you were my neighbor I wouldn't cower, but I would build a fence. Possibly move.
Some of you guys seem to have way too much time on your hand.
