I have never, nor have any of my drivers had any type of accidents. Unlike you two week wonder drivers that are blasted all over my local and national news in a ditch, cannot drive in snow, let alone on a straight dry road. I have seen more Wiener wagons, Pumpkin trucks, CRST, and every other large carriers highly trained, professional F*** Ups whom could not fight your way out of a paper outhouse. Me and several of the real drivers in this forum, have forgotten more about going in reverse, than you newbies will ever learn about going forward. Until you all have the years of experience as those of us who have been there, done that, and have the mentality to do the job. Do not comment on what you know nothing about.

I didn’t grow up around livestock, so it was really a learning experience when my friend sent me to Letohatchee, Alabama to load about 80 head. Several things I learned on my maiden voyage solo.

1. Close every gate behind you.
2. Tennis shoes are always a bad idea, especially in the loading chute.
3.Cows are fast, and a lot stronger than me.
4. A Charlois will kick for no reason, and it hurts a lot.

There are other things like loading by yourself at night. Trying to sort some out at the drops, finding your bills and load card at a place you have never been before, trying to work ratty gates in barns built in 1950. There are not a lot of people cut out for it, but I liked it a lot.

 

And always load the heifers in back by the door where they’re easy to get to.

You just want them near the back door for easy access for your own purposes.
