    Yes, you got it. I had incorrectly cited the CFR. Obviously, it’s 383.79.

    Not directed against you, but as a general note to those reading this - when I state that ‘we’ recently forced a neighbouring state to comply with this regulation, that isn’t a general ‘we’. I was involved in that process, and as a result, have a fairly good idea what’s involved here. Ultimately, the ‘test’ student was able to pick up his CDL in his home state, and the system is now fully functional, so future students can take advantage of training without worrying about the magically endowed state line, separating them from from their CDL.

    I cannot speak to all states, in terms of their compliance, as I am personally unfamiliar with the particular aspects of compliance in states other than the one in question, which we successfully forced into compliance.

    @WesternPlains

    You owe me an apology. I have never belittled you publicly. If I speak emphatically upon a subject, it may be due to a certain personal knowledge that you do not have. In this case, that’s been amply demonstrated.

    In the future, I would expect you to show me some professional courtesy.

    @Steel Dragon

    Have you missed the entire point that @Moose1958 verified? I don’t understand how you’re continuing to cite some unspecified legal requirement to test a student in their home state. Or am I missing some sarcasm in there...?

    @Chinatown

    The whole Prime question gets more and more complicated. If you’re going to Springfield, you get an MO learners permit. If you’re going to SLC, you apparently arrive with your learners permit from your home state....weird.

    Hopefully, Illinois and MA will comply. Those two states have been causing problems for drivers that graduated from cdl schools in other states. One guy in IL applied to Maverick in Arkansas for training and Maverick told him IL won't accept a cdl earned in AR. Maybe, all this is in the past now.

    Well, a guy posted up a few months ago, from Mass, I believe.

    I’m relying on my (faulty) memory, but I think he was with Schneider, and they sent him home to Mass to pick up his CDL.

    If true, I’d be surprised, but, given our recent headway with a state bordering on Mass...anything is possible, I suppose.

    Ultimately, resolving these issues will come down to sit-downs with the state heads of the commercial licensing divisions, and some friendly folks from Federal Motor Carrier...

    I wonder if the mods might be able to make a stickied thread about this issue - as it pops up from time to time.

    @Dan.S for my part I do apologize. If i could I would buy you a cup of coffee. Im also a bit embarrassed. I hope you understand though I generally don't just take someone's word I need to see it in black and white. However once done I will always acknowledge. Thank you for correcting me.

    Dan... Your response to me was confrontational. Not constructive. No apology.
    It does appear you checked out and found my information correct. It applies directly to the OP. It’s the State of Missouri, not Prime. That’s where he’s thinking of going.
    I can see this is all a big mess. As usual with our Bureaucrats.

    Grubby Thanks this.
