Hey thanks bob, Appreciate the input. My wife and I are currently making about 31,000 a year combined.. With 2 car payments, rent, and all other necessities plus two children its very hard to make ends. It sounds like a no brainer at this point as I know truckers make pretty decent money. Its just the thought of putting in so much work to achieve my CDL and not enjoying it. Or letting my Father in Law down as he is willing to pay for my CDL classes.
Thinking about starting a career in Trucking. Is it for me?

"So much money" is very subjective. To you 40k may be a boatload. To someone else it might not be worth getting out if bed for. But a rookie at a decent company who's willing to work shoukd be able to make 40k without killing themself.
Bob Dobalina Thanks this. -
If you don't like it, work long enough to pay off the loan for CDL school and say it didn't work out. I would have that conversation with him and come up with an agreement before you accept his help.Brickwall and Irishfan55 Thank this. -
Sounds like you got a great deal. Perhaps take over the company someday?
Can understand the school. He’s gonna get hit bad enough on insurance your first year.
You got a much better future working for your father in law. What he does to you, he does to his daughter.Brickwall and Irishfan55 Thank this. -
