Remember too, this 3 hour break is optional. You can choose to take any, all, or none of it. This bill also eliminates the mandatory 30 minute break. That alone makes it a good bill. This bill is about adding flexibility to the HOS.

Ok then how come you can work 186 hours straight, but so long as you do not drive your legal?
UPS, OD, FEDEX routinely work beyond their drive time on the docks during the busy season. So yeah it is all about limiting abuse... #### now my eyes hurt.

Once again the only thing limited by HOS is driving on a public road. That is it.

Company asks FMCSA to allow them to use cameras instead of rear-vision mirrors

This is what they want now! Lol

Shut the #### up with that trip planning ########. I plan my trips just fine but yesterday I had to choose between using my two hour split to get groceries or taking a shower. Yep... food won. Going to be yet another day of babywipe bathing and washing my ####ing hair with bottled water.

I haven’t showered in four days thanks to this HOS ######## and having to spend the night on the side of the road or at shippers and receivers. As far as I’m concerned, all you company ####s can eat a bag of dicks.

Dont kid yourself. Call it optional all you want but it won't be long till it becomes expected by every dispatcher for the company drivers and every broker for the independents and owner operators.

Yes i know hos only limits your drive time. Before hos the driver would show up to work, hand load his truck full of widgets, drive however far it was to the customer, hand unload them, and drive all the way back. Get a few hours off then repeat. The teamsters pushed for, and succeeded in getting the original hos rules. Which by the way, included a 15 hour rule very similar to today's 14 hour rule.

No... I could not. It was either burn two hours at Walmart, or burn it at the TA. I was #### near out of food.

I showed up at the receiver (who charges a $250 late fee for even one minute) at 07:20 for my 08:00.

And now, instead of running over to the truck stop to shower before loading, I have to go to the Carrier dealer and get my unit fixed.

Once loaded, it’s going to be a mad rush to get the #### there in time.

    #### all this ####... a few more things to pay and I’m going to do something else.

No one forced you to accept loads with such a tight schedule.

I read this statement in a related story ...
"Sufficient data to support these changes"? WTH? This is just another example of a group trying to seem relevant and will obstruct anything that's not their proposal. The ATA would be against a new hybrid tree that truckers only had access to that grew legal tender currency.

I'm done caring a wit about what the ATA may do or say. They are just another bunch of worthless lobbyists who have a gay club meeting every month to have a big circle jerk, everything else is just so hard to have to actually work to improve, so they don't even try any more.

That is not going to happen for numerous reasons; Not the least of which is that HOS was originally put in place to protect drivers at drivers demands.
