and i wish you well in the unemployment line with that ####y attitude.

i have 40+ years, and i live by the company rules as well. in fact, my company doesn't even allow for passengers other than an employee being shuttled for one reason or another.

you wanna live by YOUR RULES..??

get your own darned truck..then hope and pray your insurance carrier doesn;t have some sort of limit on passengers as well for x amount of time..

Well first let's tackle the regulation about unauthorized passengers - 392.60

AND then let's look at your insurance policy, ALL of mine state that even if I have given permission to have a rider in the truck, I have to get additional insurance because who is covered by my insurance without a "rider policy" is just the drivers or employees of the company - that's it.

I don't get some of you, you think that this is not such a big deal but when you see what gets rejected by the insurance companies when it comes to medical care, it just makes me think most of you won't give a crap if someone gets hurt and can't get the right care for an injury.

every company i had ever worked for, required me to put up money for passenger coverage. and all of them did not allow passengers for x amount of time.

i think that's a reasonable requirement to abide by for x amount of time, till you make "probationary" periods.

and as i said my current company does not even allow passengers except another employee.

those that think they are high and almighty and will not take a job due to a probationary period, can update us from the unemployment lines, while the rest of us earn a pay check...

And it's the owner's company and his rules. His way or the highway. He doesn't NEED you, just any CDL holder with a heartbeat will work.

I said much ado about nothing because of the way the OP presented the topic. There are way too many carriers out there that have rider policies. However not all of them are the same. Now if you want to start that crap about me not caring about safety and the well being of riders i'm going to get angry because THAT WAS NOT WHAT I SAID! ENOUGH!

I think it's good we take a moment and have a quiet time before this escalates.

The communication among some of you are difficult but cannot be more clear to me on all sides.
