Wow is right among some other words that gets censored on here
Keep running those 3500-4000mi weeks ahaha
Meanwhile ill get what you earn on 4000mi in a 1000mi or less. But anyways keep that big tub of KY close by -
It’s a means to an end. Mileage rate until the ducks are in a row. Nobody sticks around after the drawbridge drops to better things.
-
Ok ill put this a diff way
What type of rates will you consider good after you complete the Fleece? That is if they don't starve you out the last few months so you can't make payments and the truck goes back into the vicious cycle. FYI that truck has probably been paid off 4-5 times already your just a cash cow to them -
My numbers may not reflect their numbers.
It’s not so much a miles game as it is numbers.
It depends on what market I’m in. I’d say if I can break 1k per day I’ll be ok. Be it moving 400 miles or 12. -
Our other problem now is dispatcher that are not planning ahead. When we started his first dispatcher was really great. I learned alot from her. She planned the week in advance in one day almost. So before we were half way to first load we had next load and if third load back to warehouse. Now we just heard dispatchers are not allowed to do that anymore at least over in fleet. But we run warehouse and it looks the same. When we move that will stop as I will be dispatching. But again heavy running will not be happening for long only planning on till fall then slacking off for winter first year. Then things go the way it should be on picking smart and running less but still making what we need to pay all costs and have time at home without killing us money wise.
As it has been said all a means to that end. I have been reading and researching since we started this. Making sure who we would move to and how to run things on our own. I have been all over the various sections of TR and reading threads and making notes. Besides talking with OO in person running solo or with other company. Remember I have run two very successful businesses in two very different fields. All because I researched and planned them just like now. -

The company my dad pulls for their rates are mostly between 4.20-4.40$ per mile doing a mix of flat and van work. Mostly van work
-
They bill it as round trip rates and come back empty. Last yr my dad averaged 2.17 on ALL miles
