I have had to move a few times when a apu parked next while dozing, them exhausts vent over to the next truck and when that headache comes on I know I am getting gassed. They do not design much for keeping others safe anymore.

And that generator running is producing more fumes or gasses than a webasco heater, thermoking, carrier, or idling truck? Idiots.

    I have moved sometimes.
Usually because of a noisey reefer or loud Apu.
Weed burners have the same issues.

I doubt the generator produces more exhaust. The generator uses about 1/10th the volume of fuel per hour versus a truck at low idle.
Then you have drivers that run the idle up. More exhaust. More noise.

    henboy1 Thanks this.

I have a generac 2000 in a aluminum saddle box. The doors open for venting. This unit is a little weak on power but you can hardly hear it, and it puts out less carbon than and apu. Plastic gas can stays in my other saddle box on opposite side of truck. Now I only need a fan in the country I run in summer; and it can get a little warm sometimes.
Fixing to upgrade to a 3500 kw champion so I can run a small camping a.c. unit.

You know we can not sleep without that noise, it is when we wake and no noise you see a panic come on.

Not any more but no kidding. It took me months with a dry van before I got used to it.

    Both trucks?

    You driving them yourself?

If you are forcing a driver to deal with this, shame on you.

last summer I spent 3 months to setup this kind of system. Ended up buying used Carrier Comfortpro apu. All portable AC units are junk . Window AC units and split units perform better. I would say 8btu window unit = 12-14 btu portable unit in cooling performance. Also about 3kw quiet generator needed something like Honda 3000 ( $2000 value) ... if you will run in AZ, NV, CA summertime forget about this setup. After 100F this setup will not make inside enough cold.
