Ok, let me get this straight. One guy had the right to tell everyone how Kevin Rutherford talks about this diet and sells the jump start program for it. And another guy doesn't have the right to suggest Kevin Rutherford is a radio personality with no training in the medical field and has a track record of promoting products with zero benefit. That pretty much sums our exchange up huh?

Look guys, Rutherford is known to be a showboating fool, but he has had a few good ideas and promoted a couple great ideas.
That said, I am critical of his business practices, I know a lot more info about it than he tells the public.
Onto the diet, his take on things that have been around for the last century and practiced for the last 120,000 years is alright to me and a lot of other of his critics like me.
Why?
Because if it helps just one or two people who sit all day and continue to eat 5000 caloric diet during their seat time, then his program is justified. -
Gentlemen, no diet is one size fits all, each individual needs to find out for themselves what nutritional eating plan works best for them. That being said the Atkins,Keto,South Beach diets have been around for years. They are basically high in fat,moderate protein, and low carbs ( 20 grams) and they force the body into a state of ketosis and with very little carb intatake the body will burn ingested fat,stored fat, and ketones as an energy source, but also be aware that the body will also consume lean muscle as an energy source , sometimes over fat metabolism and this is not good. These diets are considered by some health experts as " Fad Diets" and the likelyhood of being sustained or followed for a long period of time is not great. They however are very effective for quick loss ( fat and muscle) and can be very beneficial for those that are classified as obese, and under medical supervision, once a significant amount of weight loss has been achieved the individual should then switch to a more balance eating plan. The main reason this and other diets prove effective is mainly because refined surgar is prohibitive in any form( table sugar,corn syrup, alcohol) and if most induviduals gave up sugar they will see weight loss regardless of the diet. Studies have shown that after 3 months high fat participants lose more initial weight but long term after a year participants following other diets have lost the same amount. The number 1 rated diet right now by leading heath authorities is the DASH ( Dietary Approach to Stop Hypertension) its a balanced approach, high in low glycemic veggies and fruits, whole grains, leans meats and fish, given the wide variety of foods to choose from ,less boredom one is more likely to adhere to it. In conclusion I am not a registered Dietician but I did sleep in a Holiday Inn last night,LOL.
