How bout it @Ruckie

I was 100 years ago....
stay away from the “system” code for all the crap loads that the individual terminals don’t want. They throw all the junk there.
The terminals don’t work together and that’s before the franchise deal......
Lots of waiting for them to make a decision etc......
And they have no sense of humor about anything.....
I could make as much at home (hauling local) as I did there that’s why I left.... -
When provost went Bankrupt, Montgomery took over our local sulfuric acid account. Dedicated guys and tanks. Every day the local dispatcher was asking me to send these guys all over, wanted them to pump off when the acid guys only had compressors, and more. I was glad to leave, especially as they were loosing the acid work in a few weeks.
Only one of my guys went to an 'affiliate' [yeah Montgomery brought that to the QC merger] and he was hauling spent acid in an old 'might leak' trailer...
Looks like things have not improved. -
It’s kinda a crazy company to work for. Sometimes it feels like they are making it up as they go along.
A lot of it depends on what terminal you are running out of. Takes awhile to figure out how things work. -
Yea it does depend on your terminal. I just recently purchased my truck and in the process of switching to o/o. I know company side is different but I was always running loads and kept moving. Any time I ever had problems though was usually when I got my backhaul hauling from a different terminal. I believe as a o/o here you gotta learn the terminals and try and set up your run to only places to keep revenue up. If your dispatch can put you on something dedicated that’s always a plus as well. I talk to as many QC drivers as I can from different terminals so I can get info on how their loads pay but I know when my truck is finished I will probably try and do short haul runs to stay in the area of my terminal as we do move a lot of freight.
scythe08 Thanks this. -
The Work and the money is there though.

Im in Chicago area, so i have quite a few options. Is any terminal better then the rest? And is any company better then others?
-
I’m also in Chicago. I work out the Lansing terminal and truthfully it’s a lot of craziness going on over here at the moment but we do have work. Can’t wait to transfer to the IC side to see how that part works
