I was going to comment on that.

My thoughts are that because the truck had a substantial bull guard/bumper and buses are basically stressed tinfoil envelopes, the truck just sliced right through it. Look at the remains of the bus in the picture and how everything is pushed out towards the left (driver's) side... consistent with being hit on the right side as it was travelling north and the truck travelling west.

But if the bus was northbound and hit say the lead trailer of the westbound truck, would it not also cause the same effect and peel the bus open towards the left as well?

No. And the bus wouldn't have been cut through.

You can see in this picture that the left side of the bumper is pushed back and the fender is warped from it also.

I would have expected to have seen more damage down the left side of the truck but crazy #### happens with the insane forces generated in a collision like this.

Just released. 2 boys were misidentified. Family believed their son was deceased since Saturday only to learn he is among survivors in hospital

i just read it was one....oh well, good news all the same.

however, i feel that until ALL bodies and survivors are accounted for, all the families should have to wait, until positive proof/identifications are done. yes, this can be heartbreaking for the families, but so it can be too that one family thinks their kid is still alive, only to be told later, no, sorry, your kid died, we goofed....

there should be no rush in getting the crap right, the FIRST TIME.....

in this day and age of science and DNA, this was totally unnecessary.

Yes, another who was identified survivor is actually deceased. Coroners office error, likely stressed out as much as anyone

i didn't see that on the news or online..you see, in thier quest to get the families to have closure, they actually open up a can of worms. i'd be running down to my local representatives office demanding a review of how the medical examiner's office and hospitals dispatch such misinformation nearly (to me) flagrantly.
