I haven't had my hair cut since before Dad passed, and haven't shaved for 3 or so weeks. Starting to bare a remarkable resemblence to him.

First I am retired. 2nd I never drove for swift. 3. It's more being real then negative. It's just hurting me to see all these people come into this industry with that pie in the sky attitude only to be gone a year or 2 later.

My apologies, i thoughti seem you say once you drove for swift.

As for all these drivers coming and going with pie in the sky dreams, thats on them for not doing their due diligence on proper research before coming into the industry or signing up with garbage companies. Myself, i knew about the life before i decided to to my license because i grew up a truckers son/ grandson. All i had to do was search for a decent place to start.

Getting complacent. Most trucking mishaps, it seems to me, occur in parking lots. Carelessly turning short and clipping another truck. Failing to GOAL when you're not 100% sure. Don't relax until you've set you're brakes. Don't let anyone rush you.

    Brickwall Thanks this.

Falling from truck when getting in/out. 3 points of contact, always.

Locking yourself out of truck. Keep a spare key somewhere you can always access.

Give keys to any animals you have on the truck as well, so they aren't locked out.

Yeah I'm fairly young, just turned 21 not too long ago. I have turning and backing up down pretty good. Just get super anxious sitting around in traffic. Just today I've been cut off atleast 10 times and one nice middle finger -_-. I tend to roll slowly through my turns.
