    I’ll tip 15-20% to a waitress depending on their service. I haven’t had to shower on the road yet, but $2 seems like enough if the showers are really clean. I’ve never even seen a blue beacon, so no help there.

    On the flip side, I’ve never EVER been tipped as a trucker. Even in my days working for the explosives company laboring hours out in the sun or snow unloading the truck, and loading blast holes for a customer no one has ever given me a cent other than my employer. Now as an O/O getting a couple bucks for doing a good job would be nice to help pay for food expenses on the road. That’s in the rate you say? Well the price is on the menu, but wait staff still expect a tip.

    Brickwall and Midnightrider909 Thank this.

    I used to wash dishes swing shift and worked at the post office. No tips or sitting at either. Cashiers also don’t have tip jars.

    @Midnightrider909

    I don't tip the shower people. I believe in Jesus he washes my truck for free. I usually leave 2+ bucks for breakfast, sometimes 5 on an 8 dollar meal. I didn't used to tip like that. But the poor waitresses I feel bad for and I make nice money at the moment.

    You guys who never tip, or tip only for extraordinary service, go work as a server in Danny's for a week serving 50 truckers per day, where every one of them thinks of himself as a king and expects royal service, while smelling like a rotten egg.
    I always tip servers 20% if the service was adequate and a $1-2 to a shower person.
    People who have never had a job where tipping was part of their pay, will never understand what it's like.

    Pay them anything you are comfortable doing. I don't tip the non server employee's due to they make a non tip wage. When I start getting tips for doing my job I will look at tipping others.

    Usually $2 for the shower attendant, unless it's dirty.
    $1, sometimes $2 for whomever rings up my to go boxes.
    Zero for mechanics in any truck stops.
    The kid that does my work in Phoenix $40 to $100.
    Server if I sit down, almost always $5, unless she's a real hog.
    Starbucks = $0.00
    Cab ride $5
