I've been with my company since november. During my short stint I still have not completed my training (holidays take part in that). I have been threw five trainers already and still, have only completed half my hours. I must add that all of my trainers were great, and I got along well with them. I just feel as if im not getting anywhere. I have been bounced around trainer to trainer and everytime I try to get comfortable, there comes the qualcomm message saying I need to be somewhere else. I contacted the trainer I was supposed to meet up with this time, and he had no idea he was supposed to pick me up, and already left on his run. I'm not at all the complaining type, but after hearing training is 4 to 6 weeks and it has already surpassed 8 weeks and I am not even halfway done, it just gets me down. Any suggestions?
A bad decision?

What company are you training with? This is a new one on me. When I went through training back in 1999, I had two trainers, but that was my choice because the first trainer had no business being a trainer.

Holidays and all. You picked a bad time to train, most likely.
But man that sucks. Ain't never heard of anything like that. Unless they are trying to help you quit. -
To explain my trainer situations,
Trainer 1: I was assigned to him, but ended up being called the next day being told he would not be able to make it so I would be getting a new one.
Trainer 2: I was called days later and told that they found me a new trainer but he was going home for Thanksgiving and would pick me up the following Monday. This being another week of just sitting and waiting. I left my house early that morning and drove to the terminal. We completed a short run and, while waiting on the next, we recieved a message stating; I needed to be returned to the terminal to complete a new drug test mine expired the two days before. I sat another two days waiting on resaults. I got a call that Thursday stating a new trainer would pick me up on Monday.
Trainer 3: He picked me up and after a long awaited time of wanting to get started, I started getting some real hours in. We got along well and he was a good trainer. After a week we got a message saying to return to the terminal to be switched to the team driving dedicated routes. I had to sit in the terminal two day and catch a ride with another driver to the next spot.
Trainer 4: Another great trainer, I was out with him and gaining great hours daily. He was taken off his dedicated run and I had to be swithced to the next.
Trainer 5: I remained with him until right before Xmas and he was going home on leave so of course I was sent home. Now im just waiting on the next... Hopefully it goes well i still have over 90hrs to go.... -

That's pretty lame. My hubby didn't even go through that crap last year when he went through training.

Sunchild, when the words "Patience is a Virtue" comes to mind, I think of you!
Most people would have said" see ya", after the third trainer.
Did the company you work for pay for your school? If not, go somewhere else. I'm not saying to quit before finding someplace to go. Quietly contact other companies and explain your situation. Sounds like you have time on your hands.
I would contact your driver manager and explain to him that you have done everything asked of you, but enough is enough! Tell him you want a trainer to run with and finish your training. If he/she doesn't help, go to their supervisor. Don't worry about "rockin' the boat". After the way you have been treated, someone needs some rockin'.
Someone else has asked "what is the name of your company"? I am also curious.
Sorry to here about your problems, and I hope things work out for you, if not with this company, than with another one. It sure sounds like you have the desire!

I am with USA. Probably not as surprising now. I have recieved other offers and one really good one from a local outfit. I was wanting to stick it out and see what happens, but too much is becomming too much. I wanted to see the country which I won't get to do with the local outfit but the pay is nice. The massive terminations the company just had and the run-around I am getting is a bit discouraging though.
