I have a UM150. It's worked for me everywhere but Canada
I don't have a gps and I find it handy to use my atlas and truck stop guide to trip plan then google the destinations and way points for a satellite pic.
I also do my banking, talk to my wife, check the weather and of course, keep up on the truckers trucking forum!

Verizon is $59.99 a month for 5 Gb. I have never gone over, not even close, and I am a daily user, but I don't download a lot of movies and stuff and that eats it up.

The aircards can't be beat! They're not as fast as Cable or T1, but faster than dialup. Some phones (generally the newest ones) can be used as the modem (tethered) so you don't have to buy the aircard. My Blackberry can be used and my $30 per month data plan covers all internet usage. It takes a time to get it set up properly, but once you do, it's easy as pie. Just use google to search for "Laptop tether setup" and you'll be in business. Just make sure if you do it this way you have an unlimited data plan for your cell phone, or you'll end up with a $700 phone bill like I did. !!! (AT&T reversed the charges when I called them, how nice!)

I appreciate it I used to work for at&t customer service back in the day and noticed how high the tethering charges would be outrageous and plenty of times I credited back the charges if they were nice people.
