The two guys I'm talking about are good teachers and don't mind doing it. Of course I don't hang around other rigs being worked on, just mine.

Finally got the whole load on. 12.5 hours today and only drove 252 mile, but I'm over 420 miles crisscrossing California. Passed one of my old duty stations twice...Camp Pendleton...and it's the only thing that looked familiar in an area I used to know like the back of my hand.
On to Chicago, have to be there by 1800 on the 22nd.
More later... -
4 days to get to Chicago? Well you certainly can't say they run you tight.
The Kraut, Broke Down 69, Tug Toy and 2 others Thank this. -
when you do your taxes, is fuel for the year a tax write off? thanks.........
Broke Down 69 Thanks this. -
All expenses that one has for the chase of a dollar can be deducted from gross revenue.
The best person to ask is your tax person. If you are an O/O, you should have a quality CPA working with you.
They can provide valuable information. Plus the cost of the services are a deduction.Panhandle flash, Broke Down 69, 1catfish and 2 others Thank this. -
I was talking to a buddy of mine today, usual trucker talk, and I told him I was going to be stopping in the vicinity of Parowan for the night. He suggested that if time allowed I run up to the hook in Beaver...said it was sort of a dump but there was a taco shop inside that made one hell of a good burrito. The TA in Parowan has a Taco Bell and Subway, so fresh food was appealing and I had time to head over so I did. The burritos were excellent but I heard a couple locals talking about the weather and, wait for it...big winter storm blowing in tonight 8-10" by morning, up to 2' higher up. Vail ain't looking promising at all. So my plan to run this into Chicago early enough to do a 10 before unload looks to be out the window at this point. Dam, I want Spring to actually go nationwide, back home they're already cutting grass and fishing.
I'm going to lie down and cry now.
More later...Panhandle flash, The Kraut, Highway Sailor and 3 others Thank this. -
It looks like a showcase home now.
