Does anyone use the fuel additives found in the truck stops? If so what kind of succes are you experiencing? And does it improve performance. My truck does not start as quick as it used to I am wondering if any of those additives could improve the situation.

The only one I use is Howes diesel treatment. Especially for severe cold and about once a month to keep my fuel tanks and system clean. You can get it a Farm & Fleet for about half the price of T\S.
Lab work and truadvocate Thank this. -
In winter, I use 911.
I use Howe's the rest of the year.Lab work Thanks this. -
Only times I found that it helped with performance, were times that the truck had performance issues.
Had oil getting into the fuel via a fuel pump seal, truck idled rough. Fuel additive took care of that until I got the pump changed.Lab work Thanks this. -
Sooooooooo many variables as to why a truck won't start "as fast as it used to"!
After several back to back tests of running with and without I will now swear by Lucas. It works period.
I have not tried Howes but I assume it is/does the same thing???Last edited: Apr 20, 2018

Thank you for this information. Now I have to find a Farm & Fleet. Half the price of T/S looks like a good deal.

Our fleet switched due to price and the Howe's anti-gel wasn't that great in winter.Lab work Thanks this. -
Where can I find the Lucas additive?
