Buy yourself a good wide push broom, or better yet, a leaf blower. You can hey one at Walmart for less than $80.

Heading to Schneider. Lease based out of Phoenix. Got a 2019 Freightliner Cascadia automatic. Going to orientation on April 30th. The truck is turned in and I'm sitting in a hotel with my rental car and a 1000 mile trip ahead of me. Why fly when I can drive. You wouldn't believe how busy the rental car place was in Sapulpa. I was lucky to get a car even with a reservation.

Seems like most on here that leave are going over there. Must be a sweet deal I guess.

I'll let you know. Steel Tiger likes it and says he's making good money.

Currently at JCT my weekly fixed expenses on a 3000 mile week are about 1304 a week including the extra nickel for my maintenance. By my calculations my fixed expenses over there won't be much higher...maybe slightly higher. There is higher paying per mile freight over there to be had, but it's not falling out of the sky. We're currently at 1.31 a mile at JCT and I can turn a buck here so, I know that if I bust my butt running 3000 plus a week over there, I need to AVERAGE at least 1.30 a mile. For me, the opportunity to call ALL OF MY OWN SHOTS is worth it even if I make less money. I'll also be able to learn the freight lanes and not be in the dark all of the time. Another perk is that you can take your truck ANYWHERE. The lease is not hooked to Schneider it's an outside finance company.

The big difference over there is that you have that truck payment every week. My plan is to work a week and take the profit and pay ahead for my week off. They'll also work with you and take extra out so you can get ahead on your payments. It's a fixed contract lease also. They will work with you on breakdowns and you can buy the truck out with a balloon payment at the end of the lease and they'll help you secure financing.

Best of luck to you. Keep us informed on how you like it. I was considering leaving also when I started this gig. It's like they were reading my mind. Lol.

Honestly, if it weren't for the fact that our truck is at least two thirds paid off and been a really good truck, I would consider that move. But then again we are just doing too well here , so it would really have to be a sweet deal for us to leave. Especially after this last round of pay increases.

Why worry about miles?..be more concenred with rate...on % programs you should be more concerned with rates...try to run loads that pay the most per mile as long as they correspond to your plans and schedules and such..
