I don't understand why you think we're arguing here. I don't appreciate being called ignorant and being accused of having blinders on. I understand your anti-union beliefs, and I agree that there can a lot of abuse in union shops.
However, none of that has anything to do with bidding work or vacations according to seniority. And none of that would be tolerated at my company. A driver caught stealing time would be fired and there'd be no union there to protect him.
Putting all seniority rules under a "Marxist" umbrella is one helluva stretch. C'mon now.
Is it time to move on?

I work with a majority of very conservative drivers who also hate unions, but if you took away the seniority system they'd be throwing a fit. And for good reason. Their 20 or 30 years of service would be worthless. And I say that having only 3 years in at my place. -
You know guys if you want to argue politics, take it to the politics section.
Just saying.Bob Dobalina Thanks this. -
This is the last I'll say on the subject - I am just trying to point out a simple logical fallacy. I am not arguing about politics.
What is being argued is that unions are Marxist cancers on America, and since unions use seniority boards, those are therefore also Marxist cancers.
That's like saying since unions run daycab tractors, they must also be tools of Marxism. And cross-dock terminals must be temples to Marxist ideology. Ridiculous, isn't it? Saying that bidding on runs is Marxist is just as ridiculous.p608 Thanks this. -
Now, you said you wanted to run team, so as long as you are together, you won't need as much home time, so that's much better for you both. -
I totally agree.
