I will be forced to run through a 2 hour day (day after tomorrow) to get close enough to the receiver to get there with the 10:58 I have coming the following day as my recap hours start to roll back around. Getting there with my coming hours is literally going to only have minutes to spare that evening but looks like overnight parking is available.
Sucks but it is what it is. I'm hoping to get the 18:00 appt moved to the following morning.
Drive for 8, 9 or 10 hours?

I wonder if saving your 70 is like saving your virginity.

I don't give it a second thought whether I run recaps or get a fresh 70. But I don't like throwing away more than about 2 or 3 hours to sit for a restart.
I like it when I burn the 70 in 7 days and then forced to do a restart as you sit through a 0 hour day with less than maybe 30 minutes on the 70.skellr Thanks this. -

It depends alot on how you are run. Can "dispatch" run you efficiently or do they have you sit alot? Do you want to run hard or take a more even approach? What would work better for you in the long term?
Theoretically, you will have more hours available for driving if you burn up the 70 and do a reset as soon as you can. You can reset before the "week" is up and go some more. Although, It's hard to be planned that way. Something will come up and throw a wrench into the works and you will end up sitting somewhere for nothing. That will change the plan of running out the 70 for that week. Sometimes you just have to improvise and do something else.
You can lean toward one or the other but it won't be anything consistent. -
Running flatbed, 99% of the time I don’t pickup or deliver on the weekend. So I have been running 3500 miles and parking for a 34 either at the consignee for a Monday delivery, or close enough that I can coast in without starting my clock. I still have hours left in spades when I’m parking for the 34. It’s really just about setting myself up for the next week. And I do that with loading and unloading, stopping every 3 hours or 150 miles go check on my load and also within 50 miles or an hour of getting loaded to check on my load. There’s really absolutely no excuse to be worried about your clock on elogs. I’m running my ### off and still getting 13-14k miles a month. 65mph Truck, elogs and tarping loads. Doing a 34 every weekend. This is the first one I haven’t in a while. And I’m also 100 miles from the consignee. Taking my time this week because I just came off of an extended home time and I’m feeling lazy.

Running refer makes that impossible. -
I run decently hard during the week and then pick a load for Friday that is 900-1000 miles that delivers Monday so I can get a fresh 34 in over the weekend.
