so by the time Friday ends, i'd have 40 hours used up out of my 70 since the clock is still running right? Also i take it the 14 hour is in good standings, because i'm technically only on-duty-not-driving for 8 hours and then going to off-duty for the rest (16 hours) of the 24 hours which resets my 14 hour clock daily. But those 8 hours of on-duty-not-driving are still being counted against my 70?? is that correct? If so, then i'd have 30 hours left on my 70 hour clock. so then technically I can still work 14 hours on Saturday and then 14 hours on Sunday and still be under my 30. Now the issue is when or how do i reset my 70?? -
Correct. You have to have 34 hours uninterupted off duty to restart your clock.
Now with each day after 8 days you'll have 8 hours fall off of your 70. But you're working full time. So, you're adding 8 hours right back on.
Hopefully I've got this going through my head right. Been a long time since I was on paper and didn't have a computer figuring it out for me. Much like a GPS, elogs make you go dumb. -
For the record that is 70 hours for 8 days not 7. Be mindful of this. As has already been said it is very difficult to hold 2 driving jobs like this and stay legal.

As was just commented on. You can be on duty if my math is right 8 hours and 45 minutes every day. You can not go over this. If you start a day with only 8 hours and 45 minutes left on your week this means if you have a breakdown or get held up one day and can't get in by the time this 8 hours and 45 minures expire you have busted your 70. Do this enough and at some point safety is going to be calling you in for a powwow.

That sounds terrific.

By this math/Logic he would always be at 68hrs, thus never have to worry about breaking the 70hr cap.
It’s a lot of hours to put in every single week, but doable non the less.
Personally Op, i would take @Chinatown’s list and find a local company where you can pull a decent salary. Do your homework, this forum is a wealth of knowledge (after you discard the bogus trash).
You could be home every night/day and off weekends while making 70k+ a year.hasrem Thanks this. -
