You aren't wrong. However... Companies everywhere were being audited and scrutinized by the DOT for driver logs and discrepancies. With my old Qualcomm, I could move around and stay off duty. This new programming is their way of eliminating that programming loophole. It isn't the fault of any company that uses them. They are just adhering to the rules that the DOT is mandating. Remember, elogs are new. This is a system that is in flux and will be for a while until everything calms down. And it will. Personally, I'm glad I never ran on paper. I always had elogs, so it's all I know. I never minded them. Honestly, they are a good thing for me personally. One less thing to keep track of during the day. I can be scatter-brained some days, and I know I'd get behind on logs. Not a good place to be in if you get pulled into a weigh station.

I have nothing to tone down sorry. There was no attitude in my post. There was straight up bluntness about earning trust. 15,000 miles while with your trainer is very very little time. You can talk #### about my attitude all you want, and make negative comments about my training. I really don't care. My record speaks for itself, and until you are actually in this industry, driving a truck every single day, and see the stupid #### we see every day from 4 wheelers and from other truck drivers, you're basically ignorant on the entire situation. After 15,000 miles Im supposed to know if the guy Im training is going to text while driving? How? Im there to teach them how to drive a truck safely, backup safely, and interact with customers in a professional manner. Once he gets on his own then thats on each individual to pay attention. But all it takes is 1 fight with the woman at home, or a sick child etc and then the true test comes if he will stay focused. I sure as hell cant say after 5 very short weeks with someone what decision they will make in that situation.

I have never began a new job in which I wasn't on probation for an amount of time to determine if I was suited for the position. Just saying!!

A lot of the reasoning for the cameras in addition to what keen98 and others have said is for more favorable insurance rates.
