Looking professional goes a long, long way as well. I passed on the company uniform and instead decided to buy a couple of company branded, collared polo shirts. I'll wear khaki pants to highlight the ensemble. Hopefully, I'll be offered a role in the next big screen truckin' movie.
Today, I pre-tripped the tank I'm hauling tomorrow and noticed the bracket for the landing gear arm was missing. Knowing that the shop is all jacked up, I asked the service manager for the bracket and a few nuts and bolts. It'll take me five minutes to install.
It's always a bunch of little things over time that makes you stand out, IMHO.

Volvo with mis-matched fairing/fender colours, sweat pants, flip flops, chain wallet, Flying J-brand cowboy hat, open (and dumped) chip bag and 100+ pieces of paper strewn across the dash and 4-5 different electronic devices suction-cupped to the windshield.

Flip flops are great to drive in. My boots are only comfortable when walking
