I had 3 pair of boots. One was a pair of Combat Boots a friend got for me out of the base exchange at Robbins AFB. The other were a pair of nice low cut Dexter steel toe boots that had a manufacturing blemish that was give to me for moving a trailer for a dock boss. Then I had a pair of rubber boots I used to walk around with at night when doing my pretrips on trailers and walking around in mud puddles. I still have all 3 pair of boots. I always felt any steel toed boot or shoe was uncomfortable to walk in. However these Dexters seem OK.

I wear regular $100+/- Carhart boots most of the time. If I HAVE to have "protection", I have a pair af Red Wing composite toe with metatarsal. Think those were in the ballpark of $400.

Sucks slicing expensive boots open on the sharp ends of steel.

Honestly, if your going to be in them all day everyday, don’t skimp. Get good ones. They’ll last longer and you won’t hate yourself.

I’ve never worn keen. I had a pair of Merrill hiking boots I liked. I’ve worn Georgia boot co, Carolinas, and Chippewas for logger style boots. Chippewa is my favorite by far. I’ve had 3 pairs. I don’t wear them much since I started driving. Now I wear a pair of Chippewas that are lower and non steal toe.

For rubber boots, I like lacrosse a lot. Steal toe or non steel toe. I’ve burned through a couple pair of the red and yellow ones

Sketchers makes a light weight hiker steel toe. Very comfortable. For driving just go barefoot. Boots are for outside the truck.

Currently own a pair of Carolina Steel toed. Hate'em. Comfortable enough, but my feet sweat like crazy in them and they smell like an unmaintained, hard used portapooper.

When they finally fall apart next year (boots only last me a year or two, the more expensive the less time) I'm going, back to my old stand by, steel toed combat boots. $50 at my local Army/Navy, and I get three or four years out of them.

Yes there are. I have some top of the ankle high boots. And some regular looking shoes look like a my sneakers. Both safety toe shoes. Both Red Wings. But different.

I get Redwings loggers. $140 dollars a pair here in NY. Sitting in a truck all day they will last a minimum 3 years.
