Just Oregon requires special permit to drive through.

I don't know anything about you. However if you are a company driver you should have a permit book. Most company permit books have a state by state rundown on what you need. Look there if you can. Also I think a truckers atlas might have this information.

Depends on how far off the beaten path you want to get. National Network routes don’t require a permit, given you’re just running 80k gross. If you’re going to run heavier than that or get off the National Network routes with a trailer over 48ft long then you’ll need a weight permit or an off track permit or both.

There are some permitting requirements for Idaho depending on your route. If you have an IFTA sticker you're good on fuel permits, but there is a temporary commercial vehicle permit as I recall. It was around $50. You might want to check online before getting there and check it out. I seem to recall the permit was only required on one of the interstate routes through the state, but not all of them. It's been a couple years since I've been there.

Here’s what you would need a permit for. Without you saying where you will be going it’s tough to make a blanket answer on if you need a permit or not.

When I retired I was driving for WSE. I have forgot exactly what it was, but I had some kind of an Idaho permit in my permit book. I did not get into Idaho much and most of the time when I did it was after making a delivery in eiither the Sacramento California area or Reno Nevada then heading east on I 80 and going up US 95 into the Boise area. If there is an Idaho coop on US 95 I forgot about it.
