Hey guys so I have a question regarding the rewards for hotels.
I stay at hotels often and noticed any hotel using Wyndham rewards does not offer points because of coroporate cards being used as a payment method
I was told it's under the hotels discretion wether they give points or not. I have received only from one hotel only.
My choice rewards I get points Everytime.
It seems like it would hurt the hotel since I can try find another hotel in the area that accepts corporate card and choice rewards instead of Wyndham.
I just want to know if there is anything you guys do or if there is any tricks that can be done to receive points at Wyndham?
What is your experience with other hotel rewards?

I've never dealt with the company paying and using my rewards card. But this doesn't seem right but I suspect somebody in the right spot at your company automatically receives points in their card for all rooms booked with their payment card at the Wyndham network, and probably vacations quite well a few times a year virtually free.
Nice work if you can get it.rolls canardly, Paddlewagon and Oxbow Thank this. -
Hotels most of the time give deals and discount these corporate cards. While some hotels will award points most won't. If your not paying for the room why do you feel entitled to reward points? If you are find another payment means.

It's their game, you play by their rules! They are already giving you a discount at corporate rates.

It could be worse the OP could be having to pay for the rooms himself. He wants credit for something he didn't pay for, he might be a millennial.buddyd157 Thanks this.

Lots of applications in the travel and hospitality industry where another gets rewards points (other than the paying party). It's a common practice lots of places. Usually the rewards card that is presented at check in gets the points IF the reservation does not already have a rewards card assigned.

Most hotels are not owned by the national company. These loyalty reward points actually are paid by the owner. It is not all that simple and this relationship is complicated. Some hotel owners will NOT award points with an already heavily discounted room. Corporate cards are like fuel cards in a lot of ways. These company's negotiates rates with hotels. While a hotel most times is bound by the parent company to honor a rate they are not required to award points. I used to stay at the Cottonland hotel in Rayville Louisiana I 20 exit 138. I knew the owner well. He always kept a room open for me and gave me a great rate. If I recall his last name was Little. Mr Little decided to lease his property to a national company. The next time I checked in he told me to continue to get thst rate I could not get points. Not long after this he sold the property and the new owners changed it to a super 8.

You're right, it is nice. Our company pays for the motel when our drivers are out of town overnight.
We also pay a per diem to help with meal costs.
Since we pay for the motel we figure that any perks should go to the company.Oxbow Thanks this. -
