Prime trucks are set up and tuned to run those speeds. Guys driving 55 will get 10mpg. For the record I did 8mpg this week @3800 miles and I drove 65mph because I was struggling for hours so had to get there as fast as I could. Normally, I drive 60mph and I'm in the 8.5 range but I'm always in PA when I'm out of PA I can hit 9mph.
Did Prime get slowed down to double nickels?

I've kept close track of my milage since this thread started. This is about last 2500 to 3000 miles.
Getting 7.43 to the gallon, all west coast, this is getting F in the ### in L.A. too, in ZOMG traffic for about 4 hours and 80 miles total.
Also stopping and starting at God only knows how many rail crossings in Oxnard.
Here's something I don't get about "fuel bonus".
What happens when you have stretches like me, when you are constantly up against a nice 700 mph head or head / cross wind for WEEKS???
That's gonna knock you down to 6 or less sometimes for a 1000 or 2000 miles. -
B's an paper?
-
Pretty much...
You're screwed.
Tanker drivers don't get in on the bonus.
They are compensated with a higher rate of pay to make up for it... some what. -
I dunno what that means.
-
That's why I never believed in the bonus game.

Same here just some bean counters idea.
Light loads with a dd15 paired with the dt12 I could see imagine 9-10 on flat ground running 55.Dave_in_AZ Thanks this. -
It's not just that, there's just too many things beyond anyone's control that can impact fuel mileage. You get hung up at a shipper or an accident for a few hours, you gonna be late and reschedule so you can make your fuel bonus??truadvocate Thanks this.
-
That’s some serious power if you can hit a whole 9 mph In PAtruadvocate Thanks this.

If it is due to a shipper delay and you can't make it... safely...
The load is rescheduled.
