My question is this.. as a newer driver with under one year of experience, should I expect to be fired from my company for running over a sign. I called the police (really didnt want to). Ripped the air line out of the trailers brake chamber. Anyone know how many points this will give me?

as far as "points", i do not "see" any.

    yes, you may get fired.

no, you may not get fired

thing is, what type of sign did you run over?

stop sign, yield sign, one way sign, mens bathroom sign.

you cost your company some money, depending on THEIR probationary period, you may still have a job, you may not still have a job.

why not ask YOUR COMPANY your future?

Honestly it’s not a big deal, minus the “not seeing the sign” part of it. Air line repair is cheap. Signs are cheap and easy to fix. You might get suspended at most, but not fired. You shouldn’t get any points unless you got a ticket.

2nd that. Cage or back off the trailer brakes and run it to the nearest shop. Fix it out of my pocket. Leave the sign where it landed.

What happened with that sign stays with that sign.

To get to the air lines, he reaaaaaaaallllyyy misread that turn. Well, Mr @Steam87, if I were the guy you had to talk to after an incident, what I would really want to know is if you figured out what you did wrong. If you figured it out, no worries. If you didn't figure it out, I would be worried about you in my truck and I sure as heck can't have someone in the truck that I have to worry about.

So, when you talk to the wannabe all-knowing, all-powerful, Safetyman and he starts asking you a million versions of the same question, what he wants to know is if you figured out what you did wrong so that he doesn't have to worry about you doing it again.
