Why pay Landstar over 30% of the load when you can have 100% with your own numbers?

    I think you can use the same background check to get the TWIC, unless they have recently changed it.

    There is a good agent(name and state will not be posted) that works with a good base that wants us to move their freight. So when they put out the bid they require drivers name within 1 hour of bid closing, cuts out the brokers. Sig and tally is another way and I like the $25 for signing my name.

    It's exactly the same background check but you get charged for both no matter what. You do get some sort of discount as mentioned earlier but it's small and very negligible.

    it also depends on your state. Not all states give the discount. I think the dicount is $22.50.
