I installed new cab bushings in my '03 379 and now the clutch has no free play. The cab had shifted quite a bit with the old bushings and I'm thinking the clutch was adjusted based on that. Now that new cab bushings have been installed and the cab is back in its proper position, can/do I adjust the linkage rod to get the free play back?

All you can do is try, if it works out........great.

If not, there's something else wrong.

Sounds like a non-issue to me. Adjust the clutch to the proper spec, and then adjust the linkage to give you the amount of free play that makes you happy.

Dino soar and Goodysnap Thank this.

Quite common to change the cab mounts and have the clutch adjustment change. Set it to 1/2 inch at the clutch brake and then adjust the linkage to 1.5 inches freeplay at the pedal.

    Dino soar Thanks this.

    Yes.

Always adjust the clutch itself first, then adjust the linkage.
