I'm pretty close to quitting this trucking 7 months in. Way too much stress beyond belief and 95% is not caused by me. Got into another fight with another degenerate yard jockass. Giving me #### because I needed a trailer lifted that was way too low. Then he started with verbal attacks that got me riled ofcorse and I threw back and he ended up calling my company on me. The guards told me those guys aren't friendly when I checked in because I was asking where to drop the empty. Dude said one of them knocked a drivers teeth out before. The yard donkey technically works for cardinal but he moves all company trailers.

It's a shame I enjoy driving and I drive really well it's just the people in this industry that screw it up.

Here's a pic of the trailer for reference I even dumped my airbags in this pic and my tire wouldn't go under.

So I'll see hopefully I'll at least fullfil my contract but if it keeps going like this I'm out not worth the hassle for the little money.

Drop your air bags, get something like 2X4 blocks & put them under the nose of the trailer, on top of the truck frame, then air up your air bags. It will pick the trailer up enough that you can dolly down the stands. Repeat if needed to get the trailer up enough.

I would complain when it happens at my job, but I know the guy that does it and it would be wasting my time. Like Grumppy said, put a block back there and let it lift it. Then, drop your loaded trailer to where he can’t back under it and accidentally chalk all four wheels.

Yard jockey knocked a drivers teeth out? Could be a rumor or scare tactic. Keep a stainless steel ball point pen handy and if you feel threatened, start slashing away. The pen, by definition, isn't a weapon; you just happened to have it in your hand when you were attacked.

Sometimes trucking requires a tad of work.
Not trying to be mean but that wasn't that bad.
Drop the bags.. put the rails under it... put the crank in low gear and turn it 25 times (big deal)... air the bags up... Lower the legs again... Drop the bags if necessary, and get under the trailer.

This job requires getting sweaty at times.
    Sometimes you get crappy trailers.

You have to solve those problems yourself on the fly without someone bailing you out.

    Gotta get tough.

    NUT UP.

So what? Can't you see the gap between the frame rails and the trailer? You've just been given the informed words of an experienced hand, for free, that would have saved you the indignity of having to speak to a yard dog. The correct thing to do would have been to say " thank you grumpy, it's great advice I'll certainly remember in the few short months I have left doing this job"
