I guess I'll have to go to jail then, I am not shutting my truck down when it is only 5 degrees out. Wont even be able to start it in the morning if I can't plug it in. and If they give me a ticket, I'll just say. "Have I committed a Crime?" and if he says "Yes", I'll demand that they arrest me and it goes to a Jury Trial!

so.... if enough of these states pull this kalifornia kommunism, does that mean we can start getting federal highway funds to install generators on trucks???? are these states offering any incentives for using alternative methods to allow us our small requests for some comfort?? considering we work at the very least, twice as hard as the average american working his 40hr week???

As a side note to your comment, some states do have an offering to help defray the cost of say an APU. If and when this becomes a nation wide issue, do we expect the FEDS to print more Dollars. That's even if we still can buy anything with them... Lets see Idle Aire is out as an alternative, not enuff parking now and lose some more, and does any on want to flip the bill for 10 K trucks parked in any given state. And no one wants a truck stop/ travel plaza in their town, so that is out. NEXT! It's all about look, the trucks look like they put out dirty polutants, and te cars look like they just put out good 'ole H2O. That's the impression they have at the EPA, what's worse they know they are wrong. Some one call me when the tree hugin', don't wear fur, stop killin' cows, be nicer to the animls than a truck driver wake up with out their coffee, and are frozen to their sheets, and stop screaming about global warming. OH I have said too much, I step down off the soap box now... Ya'll have a greeeeat day.:biggrin_2551:

I really do wish the Truckers would get on the same page in this country!. all we have to do is shut down for 5 days nation wide! but no. we'll just pay the fines or freeze to death as the temps will now plunge to 20 below in Wiss and we won't be able to start our engines due to the fact that while on the road, we can't plug our trucks in! Hmmmmm can we start a law suit against the state when someone dies in that state. It is defiantly colder than Calif.

The anti idling laws in CA have a clause that exempts a commercial driver if he is on his federaly mandated 10 hour break, and I've never seen a bear come into a truck stop and tell drivers to shut thier trucks down.

Even New York, arguably one of the toughest states on truck idling, Has a clause that exempts drivers if the temperatuer drops below 35.

You sure are out of touch here. That exemption in California ran out January 1, 2008.
