ok I’m in bordentown right now, gotta head to Hatfield ma. Should I take 95 to 91, or 287-684-84-91? Know bypassing is gonna be further, but won’t have to deal with gwb. Though I’m like 44k so the mtns are gonna be fun. Also, how much further is the bypass?
Bypass nyc?

If you run the GWB way in the wee hours is different than running it at 5pm.
Bean Jr. Thanks this. -
I’ll be going over it about 11/12 in the day
-
My knee-jerk answer to that is to go around. Last I checked the GWB is $95 if you have pre-pass and $125 if you don't. Depending on the time of day you will probably save time by going around I-287. I-95 in Connecticut is, in my opinion, the worst freeway in the country. It's always a parking lot.
BTW keep in mind the Tappan-Zee bridge does not allow hazmats.x1Heavy Thanks this. -
Avoid the gw at that time. Run 287 or take nj rt17 up to 87

105.00 cash buckaroos, just paid it last week. Never again, I'll avoid that thing like the plague, thought the guy was joking.

I used to go through there pretty often, but the last I was up there was about 5 years ago, but at 11am up until about 3 pm, the GWB and Cross Bronx werent bad at all. I can't imagine it has changed much.
I always hated 84 in CT, but the underpowered truck I drove may have had something to do with that.Brettj3876 Thanks this. -
287 isn't bad.
-
Yep ran ny17 to 84 in ct on Tuesday. I hate new england. 17 in new York is a good ride, nice scenery and little traffic
-
It's $105 to cross gwb. I just crossed it last week. That's the price no prepass. If you're that heavy, plan your trip to cross it at night. Crossing at any time during daylight is trip suicide...
