Why do so many Americans hate European trucks?

    The K 200 has to accommodate a 15L engine.....


    They do real loads down under.. and they probably hate the Mx too.....

    Unless they are permanent it will only be a temporary reprieve. As this thread history has shown.

    On a side note: you and the other mods should get an award for the amount of patience you have shown. Certainly more patience than i am capable of.

    Well well.... if "there isn't even a floor visible on the photo of the K200", how can you tell that "it has a flat floor behind the engine, not over the engine. There it has a big doghouse." (your post 11295)???
    So your conclusion (in post 11295) does not make much sense, does it?


    Take a few minutes to watch this youtube video, by DAF, with an open mind (if you can).


    Pause at 2.08 minutes and you will see this:

    Look at the radiator, the hoses to and from the charge air cooler, and the coolant expansion tank, and you may understand that (and why) the DAF XF has the short doghouse under the dash as well (very similar to the KW K200, and in fact most cabover trucks) as I showed in the picture in post 11267:

    Maybe the doghouse in the KW is a bit larger (but certainly not the length of the engine as you claimed) because they have to accomodate a larger radiator, and larger charge air cooler because of the larger and more powerfull engines (some with EGR) they install, AND dealing with australian climat?

    When was the last time you were in a DAF XF? Did you not see this?
    When was the last time you were in a KW K200?

    MB had long time ago opposite, tunnel was low forward and 1ft after dashboard it will rise up. this was on v engines while inline had full length tunnel. v10 also had such tunnel they even manage to fit v12 engine underneath, cab was raised 80mm
