Oh, yeah? You were singing a different tune just a little while ago. You seemed very concerned with what others are making off the load. It's a big pie driver. If you'e not getting what you want than that's your cross to bear not anyone else's. Look in the mirror instead of across the table. And for the record, what I do is none of your concern. However, I assure you I don't blame others when I have an issue.

So back to my question has anybody used any of these freight marketing brokers, convoy ,transfix, doft, Uber, proloader etc.etc. The only thing I want to know is how it works and if it has worked well for you if not I'll never ask another thing on this forum

I just don't see what any of them can do that's any different.
They like to talk about innovation and information mining but TBH it's all pretty simple and it's all the same thing. You can try to re-brand and re-label something all you want, but it's still all the same thing. Uber Freight is nothing but a run of the mill brokerage with a shiny new car. Shippers will still go with who is able to move their freight and for the best price.
One thing that may be truly innovative is transparency. How often does a shipper request to see the rate con between the broker and the carrier for a spot load to make.sure they're not getting ripped off? That's not a rhetorical ? btw, I'd honestly like to know. -
H*** I have never even thought about that I wonder if you can

Not terribly often. It's happened only a couple of times that I can think of, for us. As we're not ganking our customers (And frankly, the market would make that difficult, given how competitive it is across the board) it hasn't been an issue. The biggest thing is the shipper is looking to save money and get their freight moved. If we're able to do that, and save them money at the same time, then they're happy. If the carrier gets a rate they're happy with as a result, then the carrier is happy. And when those two things come together, it's a beautiful thing.FoolsErrand, boredsocial and spyder7723 Thank this.

I've voluntarily done it on quite a few occasions. One particular customer took pricing downright personally, had a situation come up where they had a red hot load at 4pm, and needed a truck. The best price I could find was a solid grand higher than the normal rate on the lane. The kind of rate that gets posted on facebook basically.
They weren't happy but agreed to it because it had to go. I immediately sent the customer the carrier rate confirmation so that they could see I'd done it at cost and not gouged them. That customer went from fairly crabby to downright friendly overnight. I worked with them for almost 2 years.
That's just the best outcome I got from intentionally showing my hand. I tend to be as transparent as I can be with both the trucks AND the customers though. The product I sell is selling B+ and better trucks to very good customers. I don't overcharge the customer and I don't underpay the truck. I also don't work with idiots-- which is something the customers greatly appreciate. As a result I get to work with decent trucking companies that do good work, and I get to work with customers who pay their bills and act like reasonable people most of the time. And because I'm capable of keeping my hand out of the cookie jar I do an ungodly amount of volume. I've literally seen my total loads booked number go up 25-50% a year since I started. This year is going to be the biggest yet by a wide margin.
Also helps a ton that I found the brokerage that had the same strategy to be an agent for. There's not much value in having clean hands when you work for scumbags.FoolsErrand, Jetstar3, truckfam and 3 others Thank this.
