Thats how every diy mechanic started. You already know more than most freightliner techs.

I’ve dealt with Freightliner dealers (uniformly bad all over the country) and JX Peterbilt in various locations. Peterbilt wins, hands down,?not that their perfect, but very reasonable.....

Its getting to the point where if I see a repair shop I automatically turn in...
My first load. First trailer missing mudflap. I pull into Jb yard to get one and put on hold 3 hours because its almost due for inspection.

Freightliner in Cedar Rapids Iowa pretty decent. The one in Des Moines can suck a DPF filter!

That's one of the big reasons i would never work for a drop and hook company. That should never happen, and the variety could put a stop to it if they wanted, but its more cost effective for them to let you get dicked around by the last driver than to hold drivers responsible for these things.

A suggestion, spend 10 bucks on a bag of strong zip ties and walk around the back row of the truck stop to find a mudflap. Keep that mudflap zip tied to your cat walk or rolled up and stuck in a side box. Next time you get a trailer with a missing mudflap it will take you 1 minute to put one on. You should also carry a spare tail light and marker light for the trailers. Dont let your time be wasted because the last driver was an inconsiderate douchebag.

    RERM and UturnGirl Thank this.

At last yes but it has been sort of a sputtery start..as if coming out of the house.
JB has just opened up a pick your own loads board but you have to call to get the rate. I'm not up to speed on using a board. Guess I better learn.

Wickedfire77 and Cat sdp Thank this.
