I'd like to find a local run. But I'd be willing to relocate for any job that pays at least $55k

It's easy to make $55K in trucking, even for a new driver. If you're willing to relocate, move to a state with no personal income taxes, lower property taxes, decent year round weather. States such as Florida, Texas, Nevada have low costs of living and no personal income taxes. I see where your governor is going to help illegals pay for college with your tax dollars, so move to another state.

I'm with Eastern Freight Ways and enjoy it. Going to write a review after this week when I'm done with a month solo. It's flatbed, northeast regional, home weekends (Fri night to Sun night/Mon morn).

The NJ terminals are Elizabeth, Pennsauken, and North Brunswick (you park truck at terminal every weekend unless you request weekend work).

The website has good info for the other stuff and abro has been posting a diary about his training and first trips in the "favorite trucking companies" forum.

Yea Jersey is a really expensive place to live but if you're from here it's a really great state. I've talked to a few people who say it's easy to find something local making at least $65k cause the N.Y. metro area has a ton of freight. With that said, I'm open to moving anywhere. I'm early 30's with no kids so I'm willing to follow the $$. I have a construction background and I would always talk to drivers who were bringing loads to the jobsite I was working on and these guys would be making similar $$ and doinh as drivers. Thats where my interrst in trucking 1st started. So this year i decided was the perfect time to transition and make the plunge
